Kelly

Dear Margaret, I can’t imagine that you remember me, for I’m sure your kindness reaches out to so many people that you cannot possibly keep track. But, you inspired something really special that has touched thousands. A number of years ago… probably close to 18 years ago… my husband and I came to hear you sing at a small church in Naperville, IL. We were at Wheaton College at the time and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet you. In that small gathering, I was brave enough to give you a lyric I had written entitled “How Can This Be?” and you were gracious enough to receive them. Later that Sunday afternoon, while painting our little upstairs apartment, the phone rang. To my surprise, it was you calling from O’Hare Airport in Chicago encouraging me about the lyrics I had penned. “You have to get music to these words!” is what you enthusiastically offered. Well, years later, I did. “How Can This Be?” became the ‘highlight’ song of two musical dramas I wrote. “The Halo Projects” are the Christmas and Easter stories told from the perspective of those glorious inhabitants of heaven ~ angels. (See www.haloprojectministries.com for a glimpse.) That little seed of encouragement you so generously offered me, Margaret, sparked a growing ministry that the Lord is using to encourage the Body and reach out to a very lost world as these musicals take the “ordinary” out of two of the most “extraordinary” events that have ever happened on planet earth… and dare I say, in the heavenlies. God did amazing things as our church performed these musicals with over 14,000 people attending and many finding Christ for the first time! Now, some churches around the country (and hopefully abroad soon) are staging them in their communities! Perhaps the Lord would have brought these works to pass whether you had called or not. But, the fact that you listened to that whisper from heaven to call a “dreamer” and offer her some encouragement… well, God used it and grew it! With much thanks, I would love to send you the DVDs that have your fingerprints on them! Let me know if you would like them. Thank you so much, Margaret, for the humble way that you have lived out your ministry. Some artists are so “untouchable” and leave little room in their lives for people that cannot offer them anything. (I’ve known a few.) But, you are doing just the opposite. I pray that God grants you great favor and blessing for the way that you honor and serve Him and others. Until the twinkling of an eye, Kelly Thoreson P.S. Thanks for the call. ;0)

Wonderful concert last night. You and your E. Sounds like you have more of 1 Tim. 6:6. Really liked all the smiles in your video in the village.

Mary, thanks so much for those words-I do a visual journal too-for precisely the same reasons you described-what great quotes! Maggie
